I’ve done a lot of work changing things around here, while there’s a superficial similarity in the blog’s overall appearance, the back end of things has changed substantially. The first, most obvious change, is the fact that my home page is now a separate entity from my blog. To go directly to my blog, the url is www.sandrewswann.com/blogpage. The other change is the navigation menu up top. You see there’s a new “Blog” link. Additionally, the old Bibliography page has been rolled into the same page as the Books page. The old Fiction and Essays have been rolled up under Read.
The other navigational tweak is the addition of common menus on the bottom of all the pages. On the left is a graphical menu I’m kind of proud of, pointing to home pages for all my books. The right menu has the search box, a link to a brand new sitemap and an index of my upcoming appearances generated off of my calendar widget.
With all these navigational changes, every page on the site should only be two clicks away from anywhere else.
This weekend also marked the official shutting down of my old home page, everything there has finally been replaced with redirects to content here.

And I’m especially fond of the TINY little smiley face at the bottom of each page. I assume that’s to let you know you’ve reached the end of the page? Of course, I had to take my glasses off to see it, since it didn’t wipe off of my monitor the multiple times I tried to get rid of the speck of black dirt….
