Wolf’s Cross is out this week, and coinciding with that, my Big Idea piece is up on Scalzi’s Whatever:

When I wrote Wolfbreed I wasn’t concerned for markets, or genre, or much else beyond having my muse promise not to beat me senseless.  It was written outside of my contracts for DAW, so I had no real constraints on what I was doing, and no expectations of anything beyond its fiery conclusion.  Everything had been wrapped up, the still-living characters all had their main conflicts resolved.  All the plot threads tied up with a nice bow made of human entrails. . .

Of course you have to go there tor read the rest of it.

Three days ago I had the urge to re-read Wolfbreed, and after taking it from my bookshelf I managed to finish it, on and off, in two days’ time. As soon as I set it down, it occured to me that after I had read it the first time, I googled the book and found that there would be another like it. And as soon as I remembered that, I immediately drove to the bookstore and bought Wolf’s Cross without hesitating. I finished it only minutes ago, having read throughout the night. It met my expectations and more.

I really was only sad to see no description of another book hidden behind the “About the Author” page. So I decided to come and ask you myself: is there going to be another book set in the Wolfbreed world?

Nothing in the works as of yet. It pretty much depends on if Spectra wants to pick up more books in the series, and as of yet, they haven’t.

I do have ideas for another two, so maybe at some point in the future.
