About S. Andrew Swann
Steve has been afflicted by writing since an early age, and was seriously involved with prose in high school. Despite the best efforts of a supporting and loving family, he published his first novel in college. While insisting he can stop any time he wants, he hides behind an alias, S Andrew Swann, and has published 26 novels since 1993. He’s indulged in fantasy, science-fiction and horror and, as a late-stage genre addict, has even gone so far as mixing all three in the same book (Marked, which came out in January 2019.) To this date he insists that his compulsion has not had an adverse effect on his life.
Steve grew up in Cleveland Hts, OH (but don’t hold that against him). He now lives on a small farm, in a town near Cleveland, OH, with his wife, Boxer dog, cats, sheep, and a very cute horse.
When he’s not writing, he spends time as a Database Manager for one of the largest private child services agencies in the Cleveland area.
Although his official background is in mechanical engineering, we suspect he took those courses just to enhance his writing.
S Andrew Swann has written across a broad swath of genres. Even his best-known collection of work, the three trilogies of the Moreau/Confederacy series, manages to cross several subgenres of science fiction from the near-future cyberpunkish detective novel Forests of the Night to the apocalyptic space opera of the Apotheosis Trilogy, all while sharing the same central themes.
Beyond that, he’s been most prolific in fantasy, while still covering a wide variety of sub-genres. He’s produced gritty urban fantasy in the books that make up Dragons & Dwarves, as well as bringing a humorous take to classic fantasy tropes in Dragon•Princess and its sequels.
He’s combined horror with historical novels; whether it’s a vampiric take on the Cleveland Torso Murders of the 1930s in The Flesh, the Blood, and the Fire, or a tale of werewolves fighting the Teutonic Knights in medieval Prussia in Wolfbreed.
He’s also written a handful of suspense novels that include the recently re-released telekinetic thriller Teek.
Whatever your tastes in fiction, there’s a chance that Swann has written a novel that interests you. And if you like one of his novels, you’ll almost certainly like his others, regardless of the genre.
