Two down, one to go.

Just wrapped up the draft of Heretics, YEA! Something over a hundred thousand words of epic destruction as I continue in my apocalyptic deconstruction of the Hostile Takeover universe. I’ll be doing some fixing up of the draft this week (a few retroconned scenes here, some backfill there, epigrams everywhere) and should get a copy off to DAW by Monday. Doesn’t mean I’m done with it, for good— I always have editorial revisions— but I’ll be done with it for now.

I revised the counters to reflect this milestone. The next thing I’ll be working on is the sequel to Lilly’s Song, as yet untitled but because of the contract I have with Bantam, this untitled novel is the most thoroughly planned out of any novel I’ve ever written. I’ve never written a full outline before— not for anything I ever ended up writing— but Bantam wanted one before they signed on to the sequel (fair enough) so we now get to see what having a detailed outline does for my workflow.

I have other news coming, I hope, about Valentine’s Night.  I’ll keep you posted.  All in all it’s been a good few days.
